What is the Montgomery IT Summit (MITS)?

Montgomery IT Summit is an annual event hosted by the Montgomery Chapter of AFCEA International.

MITS 2026 begins on Monday May 18th, 2026, with the annual Montgomery AFCEA Charity Golf Tournament, with proceeds benefiting the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter Educational Foundation. Since its inception, the Educational Foundation has invested over $5 million in scholarships and other benefits for Montgomery area students, helping to transform Montgomery into one of the fastest growing centers of technical excellence in the Southern United States.

The conference portion of MITS 2026 begins on Tuesday May 19th, 2026. The theme is:

“GenAI: From Prompt to Mission Success”

GenAI has moved from dabbling to essential -- transforming how objectives are planned, built, tested, secured, and scaled.  GenAI: From Prompt to Mission Success brings government leaders, industry executives, and practitioners together to turn prompts into production outcomes, secure workflows, measurable impact, and mission success.  Explore responsible and trusted AI practices, proven delivery patterns, and governance guardrails that accelerate modernization while meeting compliance and security requirements.  Learn how to go from prototypes to program‑level capability -- improving acquisition timelines, elevating software engineering, and streamlining IT operations.  Through demos, playbooks, and real‑world case studies from organizations like PEO BES, you’ll leave with practical methods, actionable roadmaps, and new partnerships to deliver results that matter.  MITS 2026 will focus on DAF opportunities to ride the GenAI wave to evolve and adapt the acquisition, software development, and information technology landscapes.

How can I be a part of MITS 2026?
